1. What is a Marketplace Advance?
A Marketplace Advance is a financial option that allows you to receive up to 50% of the value of your individual card upfront before it is auctioned.
2. How much can I receive in a Marketplace Advance?
You can receive up to 50% of the value of an individual card valued at $1,000 or more. Please note the following timeframes for requesting advances:
- Weekly Auctions: Request must be made at least 5 days before the auction closes (Tuesday is the last day for cards listed on Wednesday).
- Premier Auctions: Request must be made at least 6 days before the auction closes (Friday is the last day for cards listed on Saturday).
3. How long does it take to receive the advance?
Typically, you will receive the funds within 24 business hours after the Marketplace Advance is requested.
4. What are the eligibility requirements for a Marketplace Advance?
To qualify for a Marketplace Advance, you must meet the following criteria:
- The card must be valued at $1,000 or more.
- It must be an individual card (no lots or wax).
- The card must be committed to an auction starting within 30 days for Premier Auction items or 14 days for Weekly Auction items.
- You must be KYC verified (Know Your Customer).
- Currently, only U.S.-based users are eligible.
5. Are there any fees or interest charges for the Marketplace Advance?
No, the Marketplace Advance is interest-free and comes with no associated fees.
6. Can I request a Marketplace Advance for combined cards that total $1,000?
No, the advance is only available on individual cards, and each card must meet the $1,000 minimum value.
7. Can I request a Marketplace Advance for multiple cards?
Yes, you can request a Marketplace Advance for multiple cards, but each will be treated as a separate advance. Each card must meet the eligibility criteria.
8. What happens if my card doesn’t sell at auction?
If your card does not sell, it will automatically be relisted in the next auction.
9. How is the value of my card determined for the advance?
The value is based on current market demand, rarity, condition, and historical sale data. The Fanatics team will manually evaluate the card before offering the advance.
10. Can international users request a Marketplace Advance?
No, Marketplace Advances are currently only available to U.S.-based users.
11. Do I need to repay the advance if my card sells?
Yes, once your card sells, the advance amount will be deducted from the final sale proceeds, and the remaining balance will be credited to your Fanatics account.
12. Can I cancel a Marketplace Advance after requesting it?
No, once the advance is processed, cancellation is not possible.
13. Can I request a Marketplace Advance for cards listed as “Buy Now” or in lots?
No, Marketplace Advances are only available for individual cards that are committed to an auction. Cards listed for “Buy Now” or in lots do not qualify.
14. How do I apply for a Marketplace Advance?
List an eligible Marketplace advance card to auction and request an advance. Make sure your card meets all eligibility requirements before you request the Marketplace Advance.
